Taxi's for 6 persons at Hong Kong airport

HK's taxis will seat 4 (some, up to 5, tightly) but less with checked luggage. Best to use 2 taxis for 6 with luggage. They are inexpensive by US standards and rates are metered to/from airport.

Destination from/to airport and where - hotel or cruise pier ??

Convenient Airport Express Train leave directly every 5 minutes directly from inside the airport terminal to city centre with free shuttle to major hotels, and there is a group discount for traveling together - and free porter service, very popular with business travelers.

There are 2 cruise terminals in HKG, Ocean Terminal right on Victoria Harbor and the new Kai Tak Cruise Terminal that opened last year (on the old airport runway, redeveloped as port) which is a little further away. Taxi fares from airport to port is about $45 to $55 USD with toll & tips inclusive for cab (2 cabs or taxis with 3 people & luggage in each will run $90 to $110 at most, depending on which pier & local road conditions, most of which are on limited access highway)

Your TA's offered price is highly inflated ... way too much. Most airport to city/hotel "private" transfer are really by shared mini-bus & chartered coach that seat 25 or 30 with luggage for the city's narrower streets. Typical imported minivans used are licensed for cargo transport and not approved for airport transfer nor do they have the capacity to fit 6 people & luggages - if you have more specifics about the offer & what's being used, I would be happy to review it.

I posted some extensive info about taxis in HKG, cruise terminal & related official tourism links, etc. not too long ago here, search for it if you wish - LINK. Most taxi drivers understand a little bit of English and surely can read bilingual signs to the port - preprint on a piece of paper (8.5 x 11 or A4) the Chinese/English name & address ahead of time, show it to both drivers ahead of leaving the taxi stand and hand signal if necessary for them to stay close together on the road, and it should not be a major hassle - one adult in each taxi. Ocean Terminal is easier as it's very close to the nearest Airport Express Train Station in Kowloon with free shuttle to nearby hotel & porter service, I'm sure you can use that & travel together - directly inside the airport - also with free porter help & hassle free.

So, you will basically fly into HKG and board the ship and have no plans to sightsee locally, correct ? Does the ship/cruiseline offer any airport to pier transfer and quoting any prices ?

P.S. Please prepare to pay the taxi in local HKD or currency as most are not equipped to accept credit card (or "out of order")
