Purchasing cigarettes

We just got off the epic, they had deals on 5 cartoons of Marlboro for 144 pall mall was $20 each. We bought in cozamel on the pier 25.50 each carton for Marlboro 100s, it's a 5 carton limit there. We brought back 8 cartons for us and friends in our suitcase. We did not declare them in customs we went right through. Had the found them we would have just paid tax on 6. My friend bought back 15.

 

You risk a hefty fine if caught. I declare any over the limit - sometimes I'm waved through and sometimes I'm charged $10 per carton excess duty.

They don't sell my brand (Doral), so I always get the Marlboro but they also don't sell the Marlboro Lights in the 100's, which I hate the smalls, but hey, still cheaper than back home.

 

 

They had Marlboro lights 100's last week on the Gem. They were 3 cartons for $110.
