Well I took the plunge and booked it two days prior to our cruise in May.

I know its not on the ocean but they say they have a nice ocean view from balcony. Any opinions? Any restaurant you suggest.

We will have a rental car.

Arizona I got a great deal on Priceline. May 24. MCO return the 25 to PC.

Alamo. Standard size car 17.27 I didn't have to prepay. I play when we arrive.

Also Costco travel has great rates.

Our kids rented a minivan MCO to PC May 30 return PC on the 31.

35.04 Thats great for them because there are four with many bags.

Hampton Inn is about 4 miles south of the port as the crow flies ... on A1A and south of SR-520 and RonJon (a local reference point)

The view .... did you look at the property on Google Earth? Directly to the east and the ocean there is a condo that blocks the view ... but if you are on the south side of the building and look southeast .... which is why the building faces southeast I suppose!

Places to eat ... there's an Italian place BRANOS, a short walk up A1A ... no view, just Italian food. http://www.branositaliangrill.com/

Since you have a car, the port trilogy - Grills/Rusty's/Fishlips - are 4 miles away .... of the 3 I prefer Grills. These all sit on the ship channel and depending on your day/time, the cruise ships are nearly close enuf to touch. The PC webcam sits on top of Fishlips.

Fishlips

Rusty's Seafood and Oyster Bar

Grills Seafood (Grills/Rustys/Fishlips .. the portside trilogy ... I prefer Grills)

On 520, Florida's Seafood is popular

Florida's Seafood Bar & Grill (popular for QUANITITY and selection ... but no view)

Being that far down A1A already, and with car you might also consider Coconuts which actually sits on the beach . . .

Coconuts on The Beach (this one is on the ocean if the wx is nice)

{free shuttle to local hotels ..... no drink and drive worries here!!!!}

Thanks so much for the feedback/info.

Unfortunately for this reason my DD has 4 children so they need a van/SUV to fit 6 people and luggage.

They are flying into Fort Lauderdale..driving to Miami and then to hotel in Cocoa Beach..then dropping off vehicle Sunday morning prior to cruise.

We have eaten at Fishlips before..had a good meal.

I went back and forth about staying at Hampton Inn. They say it is an oceanview room with balcony so I chose that hotel.
