JoeTN Posted September 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2005 Okay, as some of you already know, I'm 20, and, having been to Germany for 2 years, I've been drinking for quite some time. I know I can't officially drink on board (not that I won't find ways around that :p), but I'm wondering, the Shore Excursions I book through Carnival, if I'm of legal age to drink in the port, if I book that excursion through Carnival, they won't do anything that would prohibit me from drinking, would they ? I'm specifically looking at the Yellowbird Party Cruise in Nassau, which features free rum punch, that the only reason I ask. (And please for the love of the almighty, don't flame me for trying to drink and not being 21 :p)
DOHC Posted September 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2005 You will have absoutley no problem drinking on shore excursions. They won't even question your age once. I seen 16 year olds getting trashed at Carlos & Charlies in Cozumel mexico when I was there a month ago. I even had little 15/16 year old kids ask me to get them booze on the ship. And when I went to Fat Tuesday's in Cozueml in Puerta maya right when u get off the boat I seen them getting served Corona's. Your 20 years old they won't bother u. All the islands on the western caribbean u had to be 18 to drink
docksider21 Posted September 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2005 (And please for the love of the almighty, don't flame me for trying to drink and not being 21 :p) In my book, if a guy is old enough to risk getting his --- blown off defending his country, then he's old enough to drink. So there! CHEERS!
mrdawson Posted September 18, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2005 Unless your hangin with a bunch of obviously underaged people you probably won't even have an issue onboard the ship....you won't have ANY problems ashore though!!:p
sallyb Posted September 18, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2005 Go for it, Have a wonderful cruise! No one ever questioned anyone on all the shore excursions I have been on. Just don't drink & drive, OK? ;)
bigscrb15 Posted September 19, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2005 If you do try to buy a drink for yourself while onboard the computer will say "UNDERAGE" and they won't sell it to you, lol. My cousin's girlfriend found out the hard way.

My cousin's girlfriend found out the hard way. isin't that assuming they scan your card ? My parents told me lots of places on the ship (Especially the casino), they just ask you for your room number :p But even if I can't get it myself on the ship, my parents condone my bad behavior, and of course, I would never sneak vodka on board :-p
jcs56 Posted September 19, 2005 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2005 Yeah...I really don't see anyone asking questions on an excursion...besides your not in the USA while on those excursions. I have always thought Mexico had no drinking age....correct me if I'm wrong???? We let our 17 y.o. son order himself a margarita at Fat Tuesdays in Cozumel last cruise just to see IF he could....and he could. haha So it was all good.
