Wheelchair van transportation - St Martin

You do not need transportation in St. Maarten. There is an accessible walkway directly into town and it is just a short distance. Once in town, the walkway/sidewalk along the beach is accessible and the main street is accessible. Just watch the sidewalks on the main street. The curbs are inconsistent. However, if you want to go to the French side, the airport or the butterfly farm, you would require transportation.

Have a wonderful cruise,

Betty

If you google accessible tours in st Martin, you will come up with a company that not only provides accessible tours, but also transportation. You can contact them ahead of time and make the necessary arrangement for where you want to go. They have several vehicles as well.

Is there any wheelchair transportation in St Martin ? I cannot stand at all - I have a powerchair .

The accessible sidewalk walkway is easy and leads you to the boardwalk of the beach....the same spot where the water taxi goes.

You go past the stores at the port, to the right, out the parking lot and make a left after the gate, mabout 1/2 mile (flat, curb cuts). You will see a sign that says to the beach (left), sort of through a parking lot. This will lead you to the boardwalk. Any alleyway to the right will take you to the main shopping street, however curb cuts vary, traffic, trees on sidewalks, people and sometimes entrances to stores not flat orbangled.

The path thete is well traveled by crew. No safety problems.

On the pier beforev stores there is a booth for tours. You could inquire there for an accessible tour, however, not cheap.
