michbarn Posted April 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2015 We're taking our first cruise on Anthem of the Seas in June with our DD who will be 2.5 years old. We are cruising to the canaries (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Maderia), Vigo, Lisbon and La Coruna. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to visit in these ports with a toddler. We normally do our own thing in port rather than doing the cruises excursions. We've been to Lisbon and Vigo before but have never been impressed but wondered if they had any nearby parks with playgrounds, child friendly museums etc.
Gardeneroflove Posted April 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2015 I haven't been to any of those places. I normally visit the port of call boards and use googles (free things to do in location/at port) for ideas. At 2, we did an 'aquairum' and butterfly gardens in key west, beach day, and then just shopping. Depending on the cruise line, you may be able to leave her on ship in then nursary or kid's club, if you wanted. you may look into a glass bottom boat or a beach day, or just stay on the ship. (I don't cruise for the ports, and I'd be happy to stay on the ship)
*summer* Posted April 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2015 In Lisbon go to the Science museum, it's great for kids (and adults)! It's the one near the aquarium if you google it. We got a Uber cab for around 6 euros but the taxis at the port wanted 25 euros. There are also cable cars up that end too although we didn't have time. That whole area is really lovely, clean and safe.
