Corony Posted April 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2015 Hi there. Searched a few pages and couldn't find any info on how the evening dining works. We have sailed quite a bit with Seabourn and wondered how seating arrangements work for dinner. Can we show up and choose whether or not we dine alone or is it pre arranged seating? Also are reservations required? Thanks in advance for any info people could offer. Just considering our first PG cruise.
twin123185 Posted April 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2015 Dinner in main dining room is open seating. Get there when they open and you are guaranteed to get a table for two. Later not so much. The other two restaurants are reservation only and you can easily done alone.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted April 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2015 Just be aware that if you show up at L'Etoile (the main dining room) shortly after it opens, with a host of other passengers, there may be a bit of a line. And if you show up a little later, you might have a wait. But they will take your name and come and get you from the Piano Bar when your table is ready. You talk to the maitre'd of the main diningn room about dining reservations in La Veranda, and you talk to the maitre'd of Le Grill up on deck 8 about reservations, when they're available during breakfast or lunch. RZ3 Posted April 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2015 Book those two early, like first day. We tried on the second day and all the decent times were already booked.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted April 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2015 It kind of depends on the itinerary and thus length of the trip, and to some extent the weather. Sometimes Le Grill is not too busy later in the cruise, sometimes it's completely booked up if you don't get something right away. I believe they try to allow everyone a "kick at the can" in both restaurants, but you can't wait too long to book, for sure.
