Trip Review: Freedom of the Seas 4/26-5/3/15

Recommended Posts

We ate in the Main Dining Room every night at the late seating which was 8pm. We did not request anything special (no special table or special area). We were assigned to a table of 6, however no one else ever showed up for dinner so we had a private table of 6. We had awesome servers Reymil and Rowell. They took very good care of us. After night one, our wine glasses were always waiting on us when we arrived. After dinner on night one, we attended the Welcome Aboard show and then went and watched a little karaoke in the On Air lounge. It was a wonderful first day!

Now, I am in one of your pictures, but I only knows this because I knew where we sat. Over your right shoulder across the gap you see a shadow seated at the table in the back facing to the right. That is me! ;)

Day 2: At Sea... Since we were in a suite we could have breakfast in Chops and order breakfast from a menu. It was very nice to be able to enjoy that perk! After breakfast, I went to play a few penny slots in the casino because it was double points for a few hours. I am not a big gambler and to have any hopes at winning a tshirt, I must play during double point sessions. lol

Then, we headed to the pool and because we were late getting out there it was very difficult to find 2 lounge chairs together. We eventually found some on the second level. My husband did not stay for long, so once he left I moved downstairs to near the pool and found a single lounger. There I watched the bellyflop and sexiest man competitions.

We enjoyed the concierge lounge for suite guests prior to dinner where they served appetizers and drinks.

We were very tired tonight so we did not do much after dinner. The traveling had finally caught up to us and the sun had taken alot out of us as well. We were able to reserve a water side cabana on Barefoot Beach for the next day at Labadee, so we turned in early so we could get up and enjoy our day!

Following, love your review so far.

Question.. Did they have lounge chairs available for suite guests?

Yes, they had a small area with loungers with cushions 2 levels up from pool deck, but on the first sea day, they were all taken. I actually enjoy laying by the pool so I can get in the pool periodically.

I am so glad you're writing this review. We were booked on this cruise, but had to cancel 2 days before sailing due to medical reasons. I was so disappointed. We've been on FOS before and were looking forward to sailing again.

I meant Nana wondering if her cancelation got me the upgrade. We were mid ship deck 10 port side.

Day 3: Labadee, Haiti: Woke up just in time to see us docking at Labadee. We were on the starboard side of the ship, so I was able to see the island very well! We had breakfast in Chops again, then were off the ship by 9:30 or so I believe. Since we had a cabana, a golf cart picked us up and took us to the entrance of Barefoot Beach. It was a wonderful day! Loved having the cabana. Our attendant was very nice and constantly checked on us. He kept getting me the Labadoozie drinks, they were very tasty! Having the cabana came with the attendant, 2 floating mats, 6 large bottles of water in an ice chest, beach towels, and a very nice buffet lunch. Pictures to follow...

Our cabana was the one on the right, just steps from the water. The cost was $225. Great location!

After returning to the ship, I went to the Crown and Anchor reception for the Gold members for a short while. My husband decided to rest in the cabin. Then, I visited the casino for a short time. The pre-dinner show was at 7pm and it was an illusionist. We thought he was pretty good and enjoyed the show. He was getting off the ship in Jamaica. We enjoyed dinner and did not do much after dinner as we were pretty tired. There was a Rock and Roll Dance Party at 9:45pm for entertainment as well as a Battle of the Sexes Adult Show. We did not attend either one of those.

Can you tell us the location of this Cabana? My wife and I will be in Labadee in September and would love to have a cabana but most of the pictures I have seen they are not easily accessible. Many appear to have steep steps and my wife is not very mobile. Can we make a special request for a "beach cabana"? In addition, can you make reservations online or must they be made when onboard. I've seen conflicting reports on this. Thanks for the great review.
