Manhattan 26-Sep, 2015: the Pope's Schedule

I know the Gem is sailing 26-Sep, 2015 out of the Manhattan terminal, on the last day of Pope Francis' visit to Manhattan. He is due to be leaving from JFK that morning. We had intended to stay in the city a couple of days prior to the cruise, but are now staying on the NJ side to avoid the high cost (the Holiday Inn near the port is over $330 a night now).

 

Anyway, for any others who are planning to be in the city from 9/24 to 9/26, here is the Pontiff's schedule according to this (unofficial) site http://www.popefrancisvisit.com/sche...york-schedule/

 

 

• Thursday, 9/24: The Pope arrives at JFK at around 5 PM.
  
• Thursday, 9/24: The Pope will attend evening prayers at St. Patrick's at 6:45 PM. I guess St. Patrick's is on 5th Street and East 50th
  
• Friday, 9/25 at 8:30 AM: The Pope will address the UN General Assembly, on the east side
  
• Friday, 9/25 at 11:30 AM: The Pope will hold a multi-religious service at the 9/11 Memorial and WTC site. If you're planning on visiting the SOL and Ellis Island it would be better to not try to do it at this time (or plan on the ferry from Liberty Park in NJ).
  
• Friday, 9/25 at 4 PM: The Pope may visit the Our Lady Queen of Angels in East Harlem
  
• Friday, 9/25 at 6 PM - 7:30 PM: The Pope will hold services at Madison Square Garden, located midtown at 4 Pennsylvania Ave.
  
• Saturday, 9/26 at 8:40 AM: The Pope will depart JFK for Philadelphia, PA
