As to you taking your fathers place in Blu. Yes I would talk to the maître d'. They ask for cabin numbers not your name. I have had breakfast with my mother in Blu before. We both had cabins in Aqua, but they only asked for 1 cabin number as there were just 2 of us. When 4 of us go to dinner they ask for 2 cabin numbers.

 

Once they get to know you after a cpl of meals...they don't ask for cabin numbers any mores...but initially they match cabin numbers w seats, since only Aqua guests dine in Blu (well, technically some suite guests, but why would you if you could dine for free in Luminae or in a specialty restaurant).

If I were traveling with my parents, I would definitely want to eat dinner with them! Eat your dinners in the MDR, and then your parents can enjoy eating breakfast in Blu.

Blu always has the following available (I'm probably missing a few items):

 

French Onion Soup

Escargots

Caesar Salad

 

Salmon (poached or grilled)

NY Sirloin (very thin), generally grilled

Chicken Breast (generally grilled)

 

I ordered mashed potatoes no problem one day, but didn't see them on any list.

 

NY Cheesecake (insult to NY)

Apple Pie a la mode (good)

Ice Cream (van, choc, straw -- generally served icy)

 

Again, I may have missed one or two items.

 

The daily menu (14 rotation) includes:

 

Appetizers -- generally abt 3, usually one fish

Soups and Salads -- generally a2 soups and 2 salads

Salad Entree w a protein (such as salad w sliced steak)

Main Entrees -- generally 4 special daily entrees, plus one vegetarian entree

Deserts: generally 2 or 3 desert specials of the day
