NCL - Baths Snorkel Excursion vs Bath Excursion

Has anyone done either or both? My questions are:

On the Snorkel trip - is it a Catamaran? or what type of boat? How close do you actually get to the rock formations? Are you able to get decent pictures from the boat? How tough of a swim is it to the rock formations?

On the Regular Excursion to the Baths:

Once you climb down the path - are you able to get decent pictures right at the beach? What if you don't go through the rock maze? Do you then go back up the same path to the top? Or is there another way to get to Devils' Beach?

Thank you in advance!!

I was wondering the same types of things about the private charters. Also, when the catamaran stops from shore and anchors/moors how deep is the water? Do you swim in with water shoes on or can you walk in?
