That's super destructive to the areas that you are visiting even though you think that it's not. Leave things alone! Just take a photo. Or buy a magnet. Don't forget also you don't know what bacteria is in that beach sand, or small ocean plankton or such. Wendy-Europe Posted May 23, 2022 #52 Share Posted May 23, 2022 In some countries it is forbidden to collect sand, shells or stones and take them home (Turkey and Italy for example), in other countries it is strictly forbidden to import such things and then there are of course e.g. shells and sponges where it is forbidden to take them home for species protection reasons (giant clams etc.).
