Running in St Maartin?

I need to run 4 miles in the morning on our St Maartin day. Is it safe to run near the port, or are there any recommended places? I really would prefer to run at the beach because my family could be playing, but not sure which beach would be best for that.

Great Bay by the pier would be good for a run but pollution issues keep us from going in the water there.

 

With that said Grand Case or Orient would be my suggestions for a long beach with interesting scenery that would also be good for your children. The port area is really industrial so I personally would chose a beach.

 

Simpson Bay is also a good choice depending on the conditions on the day.
