Warehouse/Arts District

We're not cruising until Sept 2016 but I am a planner, so I am researching hotels now. Does anyone have any experience with the Warehouse District, aka the Arts District? We did the Hotwire Hot Deals before and have had good luck, when looking at availability I saw that the hotels were much cheaper for the Warehouse District than the French Quarter so I just wanted some intel about the area before booking as it is a non-refundable reservations.

Hotels in the Warehouse District are a good bit cheaper than those in the French Quarter, and the rooms are larger.

 

It is an easy walk to the French Quarter, and there are some excellent restaurants in the area.

 

I would pick one on Convention Center Boulevard (there are several). There is lots of traffic, even at night, and it is safe to walk in the area.
