Athens hotel suggestions

Will be in Athens 2-3 nights following cruise. Would greatly appreciate recommendations of hotels, areas to stay in or to avoid, etc. Thank.

After LOTS of checking online and reading many reviews, we took a chance and booked at Hotel Adrian.

It's a small boutique hotel in the historic Plaka section of the city. We have a double room with a balcony, Acropolis view, and breakfast served on the rooftop balcony at the rate of $140 Euros per night, all taxes and fees included.

Last year we stayed at the Athens Cypria. We found it convenient, clean, large room, nice bathroom, helful staff. It was 125 Euro/night.

I love the Athens Hilton. A little pricier than some hotels, but wonderful location and ammenities.
