Buying Packaged food in port and bringing back?

Does Norwegian, or any cruise line, allow you to purchase food that is packaged and bring it back onboard?

 

I read about the Belize Rum Cakes in Belize City and wanted to buy some for gifts, but just want to make sure I can bring them back. Just gotta find out if they in the shopping area in the port or somewhere else.

you can bring things back as long as its not opened...lots of the places that sell the rum cakes also have the shipping option as well....Rum cakes are one of the most popular food items that people like to bring back home from Belize

We have never had a problem bringing packaged food bought in port back onto the ship on any of our cruises (about 35). As a matter of fact, on several occasions the food wasn't even prepackaged. We bought chocolate in Brugge,

fudge in Nova Scotia and pastries in Venice are a few that come to mind.

We brought home rum cakes from Bermuda with no problems. Customs won't allow raw, unprocessed items to pass.

There's usually a note on the daily and a sign just as you get off the boat with what you can't bring back
