Extended Stay America FLL?

After reading some of the posts on hotels in Ft. Lauderdale, we decided to go with Extended Stay Amer. Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center (thanks for the tip Trent!). Has anyone stayed there? Reviews on Tripadvisor look good but there are only 3 to read.

Any input? Nice inexpensive seafood restaurants nearby? We won't have a car, and are hoping to use the water taxi to get around. Will we be able to get to Los Alomos Blvd? Heard this was something to check out.

Thanks!

I think you mean Las Olas Blvd... http://www.lasolasboulevard.com/

And yes, you can easily get there using the Water Taxi. It's an easy walk from Extended Stay America to the Marina Marriott, you can get on the Water Taxi there and for Las Olas get off at the Riverside Hotel stop and walk east on Las Olas. It's a beautiful street with many nice restaurants and shops.

15th Street Fisheries and Shirttail Charlie's are both popular seafood restaurants and easily accessible via Water Taxi. They both have inexpensive casual "downstairs" restaurants, and more expensive "upstairs" restaurants.

I haven't stayed there, but I have been in Extended Stay America recently. It's a very nice place for the price. It's a no frills budget hotel, the rooms are all kitchenettes, it's not very old, is clean and well kept, and the location can't be beat!

We have stayed at the Embassy Suites and Marriott Marina several times (as well as Hyatt Pier 66 and some of the beach and airport hotels) but I can't picture where this is...are we still close to the shopping center, etc.? We are looking for a pre cruise for Jan 7th and I am having a heck of time....no availibility or stupid expensive..... This is showing available and not costing a ridiculous amount but I am hesitant since we get in late and usually stay somewhere with restaurant/bar on site. So, where can we eat dinner without a major hassle? No need for fancy, just food with a drink or two. And breakfast? Anything close since I don't think they have any?

Thanks,

Judy

Extended Stay America is halfway between Embassy Suites and Marina Marriott on SE 17th Street. It's on the south side of the street, next door to the Holiday Inn Express if you remember seeing that.

Extended Stay and the Holiday Inn Express "Convention Center" are both no frills hotels with no restaurant or pool, but they're not very old, clean, and quite inexpensive compared to other places in the area.

It's right next door to one shopping center and across the street from another. How late is late? There are many restaurants within walking distance.

It's right next door to this place (opening soon)... http://www.tarasteakandlobsterhouse.com/

Carlos and Pepe's is also in the shopping center next door.

Bimini Boatyard and Bravo are both across the street... http://www.bravoitaliano.com/

Chuck's Steakhouse... http://www.chucksflorida.com/

And Waxy O'Connors are both across from Embassy Suites... http://www.waxys.com/

Outback and Del Rio Tex Mex are just west of Embassy Suites, and Quarterdeck is across the street and a block north of Embassy Suites on Cordova Road... http://www.quarterdeckrestaurant.com/

I always forget some, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

For breakfast there's a little diner in the shopping center next door to the west of Extended Stay that I've been told by several people has a great inexpensive breakfast, but I haven't been there myself.

Thanks, Trent, for the info. I was afraid that the location was way west, like west of Amerisuites, away from all the good stuff. This location sounds perfect so I will book it and still keep my Priceline and Hotwire options open.

Thanks again..what a resource you are!

Judy
