Group Rates ??

My family of 4 just got back today from a 3-day New Years cruise to Ensenada on the Imagination. We had such a fun time ringing in the new year that we are already planning on going again for next New Years. We already have friends and family ready to join us and we're wondering if Carnival gives a deal on group rates and if so how many people do they consider making it a "group rate" ????? Do they put all your rooms rather close together? How does it work to book ??

We did a family reunion cruise 3 years ago and got a group rate. At the time it was based on how many rooms you booked not guests. 8 or more rooms and we got a discount. You can attempt to get rooms together based on availability or we just had family book the type of room they wanted.

We've done 9 group cruises on the 3day cruises out of LA.

Use a TA or contact Carnival's group's department. Not all cruises are eligible for group rates, NYE cruise might not allow group rates, need to confirm. For high season cruises 8 cabins is the minimum. Many fares qualify for a group rate, not just the advertised one. Several recent cruises we've re-fared at a lower rate.

When organizing a group you can pick how many of each type of cabin- 4 OV, 6 IS etc but not which cabin. Only when the cabins are actually booked can the exact cabin be chosen.
