Length of time in port vs. rental car

Hello! My husband and I will be in Aruba on Nov. 14th on the Zaandam (Nov. 11th sailing) - we arrive at 1 pm and leave at midnight. We've made reservations for 5:30 at the Flying Fishbone. Was wondering due to the short length of time in port (prior to our dinner res.) whether it was worth it or not to rent a Jeep to see the island. I was planning on doing that but now I'm having second thoughts. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Our cruise docs came today and I'm more excited than ever about our cruise - it will be my third and my hubby's second.

Thanks!

Dede

WE GET IN PORT AT 1p AND DEPART AT 9p, WE OPTED NOT TO RENT THERE, I'VE READ THERE'S PLENTY TO DO NEAR THE PORT. FREE TROLLEY AROUND OLD SAN JUAN, NICE WALKING TOUR YOU CAN DO ON YOUR OWN BEFORE DINNER. FROMMER'S 5TH EDITION GIVES YOU A DETAIL GUIDE. EVEN THE ONE YOU CAN PRINT OFF THE NET IS FAIRLY DETAILED. I'LL BE THERE 28 OCT SO I'LL COME BACK AND LET FOLKS KNOW WHAT I FIND.:)
