Hi All-

With the recent "Free at Sea" promotions, we chose the speciality dining option. UDP. When I go to make the reservations online for various restaurants , I'm not being charged anything, even when I select all four guests. Is this normal? Will it be charged on the ship? Thanks!

Best,

That is how it has worked in my experience. I have only seen one report of someone being charged beyond a certain total number of meals.

You are not getting the meals for free, just the reservation. On the ship, the people who don't have a dining package will be charged the regular walk-in price.

That is correct, with the old UDP you can pre book your res, but there will not be a charge.
I think the OP is talking about the SDP, since they mentioned the current "Free At Sea" promo (not "Freestyle Choice" from last year). But both the UDP and the SDP seem to work the same as far as the free reservations go.
