i started to wonder that but i think the good reason is to connect the drainage to the hose while they was building the ship. All cabins are built somewhere else and get shipped to the ship. After they loaded the cabin into the ship it need to connect to the drain pipe. That my guess why.

 

 

I remember back then, when my aunt was on a cruise and at that time i was allowed to board the ship before they leave, there cabin doors was lift off the ground as well.
