Advice re best option to reserve Silhouette 2017 b2b Med and Israel followed by TA

Hi fellow critics,

With the endless array of incentives at this time I thought I would ask yourselves about any recent experiences of the best option for our 2017 cruise.

We plan to reserve the Silhouette for a b2b in a 1A cabin next October; first cruise the Med and Israel followed by the Atlantic closing. Availability is good at this time and we can get the same cabin for both trips on deck 9 hump near the card room lift area. We have already used this cabin on the Eclipse and like the location.

Our options we think are as follows:

1. Book on line this month with Celebrity, they are currently showing the first cruise as a drinks inclusive (even though the front page of the web site states that this only applies to 2016 bookings)

2. Wait until our cruise on the Rhapsody in June and book via a future cruise option (we did this several years ago and got a great deal, even though it was for a sister company)

3. Wait until our Eclipse cruise in October this year and book via future cruise bookings.

Has anyone recently used the future cruise option on either a RCI or Celebrity ship and what were the benefits?

Has anyone any other suggestions to obtain best value?

Looking forward to reading your replies

David

It is all depends on what is important to you:

1. Same cabin/ location

2. Least expensive price for 1A or you are flexible with location.

3. pay full deposit and current price.

There will be compromise in one of the aspects of your booking.

I would book on board Med/ Israel cruise, getting best perks and low deposit and book TA after final payment, getting best price and compromise cabin location. Celebrity do not give much incentives for TA. We did TA on Silhouette last year in AQ - was one of the best cruises. AQ was sold out but there were plenty balcony cabins available after final payment. 2017 TA pricing are about 20-25% more than last year.

Thank you Isabella, same cabin for both cruises is probably high up our list.
