dln929 Posted April 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2016 What you need to do is visit http://www.budapestcard.org and all the information you seek will be there. We stayed in Budapest three nights before our Viking Christmas Market cruise last November and we had the card. We got so much use out of it! Great purchase. ama-sam Posted April 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2016 I purchased the London card for a trip last summer and we absolutely saw the value in it. Compare what it offers to what you want to do and if they match up, I would purchase it.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted April 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2016 Beyond the cost analysis, factor in the line-skipping benefit. In some cities (like Rome), that would be worth it to me even without a cost saving.
Rare jpalbny Posted April 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) Budapest card includes free entry to about 5 or 6 museums, discounts on a number of others, and unlimited public transport for the duration of the card. It includes transport from the airport as well. We were in Budapest earlier this month and purchased the card. It paid off for us. We bought them online and picked them up at the airport. The booth was just to the left as you exited Customs. Show them your e-mail receipt and you have the cards in 2 minutes, ready to use. For us they were well worth it. We got the 72 hour cards, the regular price is 9900 HUF per person; online they sold at a 5% discount so 9405 HUF. That comes to about $35. I think there was a 200 HUF service charge to buy online; that's less than a dollar. I'm including some comments here and there in my blog (ongoing work in progress) about what we did with the card.
