Need some help deciding.

Our ship will be in Philipsburg from 1:30pm until 9:30 pm. Have been to the island once before, and did the island tour. Orient-Maho-Marigot and other stops. On that cruise we got back too late to poke around Philipsburg, ship was leaving.

 

Wife wants to do the island tour again. I'd like to poke around Philipsburg. We both liked the Island tour, but I'm trying to decide if it's better to hang around Philipsburg. When I look at information about Front street and the Boardwalk, all I see are High end Jewelry stores. Are there any boutique type shops that cater to folks who don't spend thousands of $$ on watches and jewelry? If that's all it is, we'll stick with the tour.

There are tons of shops along Front St. Everything from jewelry, liquor, tourist stuff, boutique clothing stores, island made crafts. The shopping is extremely varied.
