We like to dance a bit (Foxtrot, Rumba etc.) in the early evenings. There was a lovely three piece combo in Medusa on the Jade for that, peeking at some older dailies I did not see any such arrangement on the Spirit. Even a duo can work. Jazz singers, piano players etc. are not enough.

Doing a 11 day cruise on spirit starting at Barcelona and ending in barcelona. How long is it to rome and florence from the port. We saw there was a train but we want to see everything hoping to get some ideas. thanks

Check out Tuscanybus.com for your Livorno port. They leave from the centre of Livorno at 9:30 and you can get a coach transfer from the boat to Livorno centre for $5. They do bus transfer to Florence or even better a mix or Florence and Pisa. We used them on 20 November 2016 and were very impressed with the service. We had 4 hours in Florence and 1 hour in Pisa. I know others had issues with the frequency of the train service but this may be due to the fact it was a Sunday.

As for Rome it is a very easy train journey with frequent returns. This will also be a bus transfer from the port but this is a free service in Civitavecchia. From the bus drop off point you can then choose to walk to the train station (15 minutes) or take a 2 euro bus ride (this is well signposted at the drop off point).

Hope you enjoy the Spirit as much as we did.

We were wondering what you were able to see. We are getting excited coming in Feb. trying to plan ahead so we can see as much as we can.

For Florence we started at Accademia (tickets prebooked through tickitaly.com) we then walked through the city to see Duomo, piazza Della signoria, ponte vecchio. We didn't enter Uffizi but would have had time had we wanted. Instead we spent the rest of our time having a leisurely lunch and generally wandering. It is a small city and everything is close. For Pisa one hour is enough to walk around the field of miracles and take a few pictures of the tower.

As for Rome did Colosseum tickets again booked through tickitaly (spent around 2 hours there), roman forum, palatine hill (around 1 hour) and then did a walk to piazza navona, pantheon, Spanish steps and Trevi fountain. Made decision to miss Vatican and not rush others but in the end we could easily have fitted it in.
