tkelz21 Posted June 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2016 My wife and I will be on our first cruise in a few weeks and we are stopping in Roatan. We would like to find a good place for seafood. If anyone has any suggestions please let us know. Thanks!!!!!
aldofont Posted June 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2016 My personal favorite is Gio's restaurant in Flowers Bay (pretty close to the port, but you still need a taxi). Their King Crab is memorable. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g292019-d1798410-Reviews-Gio_s_Restaurant-Roatan_Bay_Islands.html Argentinian Grill offers a good combo of seafood and meat (there are two restaurants, one in West Bay, one in West End): https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g303875-d1088927-Reviews-Argentinian_Grill_Restaurant_Parrilla_Argentina-West_End_Roatan_Bay_Islands.html Vintage Pearl has very good wines on top of seafood (it's in West Bay): https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g944573-d1065231-Reviews-Vintage_Pearl_Restaurant_and_Wine_Cellar-West_Bay_Roatan_Bay_Islands.html
Rare crewsweeper Posted June 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Gio's in Flower Bay could be the spot, if you're docking in Coxen Hole. The one up in French Harbor would be closer if you're docking in Mahogany Bay. But if you're in Mahogany Bay, Temporary Cal's in First Bight is a better stop, IMO. I think the Argentinian Grill and Vintage are only open for dinner. But could be wrong. On the West side of the island Blue Bahia up in Sandy Bay is open and very good. The Landing or Splash Inn in West End are other spots to try. If you're in West Bay, you can't really go wrong with Beachers on the beach If you want an out of the way place with truly good fresh seafood and are hiring a driver, ask him to take you to La Sirena at Camp Bay on the eastern end (I wouldn't suggest taking a taxi there, though, unless you're buying the driver's lunch so he'll stay with you. Adding, not sure if all of these places have websites, but I believe all have reviews on TA. Just don't depend on TA maps in Roatan to provide correct directions.
