themesscruising06 Posted August 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Labadee, Haiti Falmouth, Jamaica George Town, Grand Cayman Cozumel, Mexico What excursions would you suggest? We love to snorkel, not sure which stops above would be best?
Clarea Posted August 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2016 For Labadee, no excursion is necessary, you can use the beach and have a BBQ lunch there for no extra cost. Snorkeling is poor on Labadee. sewon Posted August 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2016 We've been in Cozumel twice. One time we did the dolphin swim at Chankanaab. Swim was good, but they charge high fees for pictures. Depending on the person you haggle with, the fee can be over $250.We were on a Celebrity ship excursion for this experience. Second time we took a cooking class with "The Cozumel Chef" who offers food tours and cooking classes. We enjoyed the cooking class. Reports from friends taking food tour were positive. This excursion was not through RCCL. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare John Bull Posted August 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2016 For Grand Caymen consider swimming with wild (but kinda tame ;)) stingrays in shallows a mile or so off the coast. There'll be folk selling boat tickets at the pier (includes bus to the boat pier), no need for the cruise line to add a chunk. Very safe, it's a sandbar, water up to waist high depending on the tide. Take goggles & snorkel if you have. Google Stingray City for images. Cozumel - if you want to go to the mainland I suggest you take a ship's excursion, always a risk that returning by ferry might get fouled-up. Falmouth itself is pretty limited. Consider excursions like Rafting on the Martha Brae or Climbing Dunnes River Falls, either through your RollCall, or the ship's over-priced offerings, or as a private excursion. As clarea's post, Labadee is actually the cruise line's private beach, not "proper" Haiti. JB :)
LA_CA_GAL Posted August 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Labadee, Haiti Cozumel, Mexico What excursions would you suggest? We love to snorkel, not sure which stops above would be best? We had a great day there. In the morning we did the America's Cup Yacht Race, then we had the Private Driver booked and hit the "wild side" where we hit some bars/restaurants and beaches. Nothing like it, really enjoyed it.
