Help and advice please?

I am almost at the point of booking our first MSC cruise in March 2017 from Genoa on the Splendida. Have previously sailed with Fred Olsen, P&O, Thomsons, Princess, HAL, Celebrity.

Have chosen this particular cruise for the ports of call.

Now that I have delved into it more the ship is larger than I would like, but as long as there are not too many kids which I am hoping in March there won't be, I can cope! Also review suggest the ship is well organised for getting on and off etc.

But what I am most interested in is the amount of English speaking passengers on board. I am happy not to have too many Brits (badly behaved ones anyway! lol) but as we are from the UK would like to have a few people to chat to!! Our Celebrity cruise was to the med and was mainly passengers from USA and Canada which suited us well.

Also is an all inclusive drinks package worth having?

Any advice or suggestions GREATLY received.

Thanks in advance

Clare

Hi,

My Wife and I cruised with MSC for the first time last October on the Preziosa from Genoa. We have cruised with 10 different Cruiselines and have to say that we absolutely loved it. In fact, we are booked on its sister ship, the Divina next July from Miami.

The strange thing with MSC is that they have passengers embarking and disembarking at each Port, for example French embarking in Marseille, Spanish at Valencia etc.

They do have Formal nights, however like a lot of Cruiselines these days you will see a wide range of attire.

We had the Allegrissimo Drinks Package which we had ordered prior to the Cruise and thought it well worth the money. We will be doing it again for our forthcoming cruise.

Oh thanks for the response goody1, that's great news.

We have the option of the same drinks package, sounds good.

Haven't even looked at the formal nights part as yet! Hoping to be able to get my lovely cruise dresses out though! I am assuming there will be a few dickie bows on the ship? lol

thanks again for the useful reply
