TP: Beach Days?

I have looked at all of the shore excursions on the TP for Honolulu to Tahiti cruise. Can you forgo the formal excurisions and find a beach to lay out on if you do not want to do activities?

Normally you can. I would do a search of the different ports you will be visiting, in addition to reading some of the reviews of the ports.

In Moorea, you can use the intercontinental beachcomber facilities (I believe for free, though the cab ride was a bit pricey -- around $25/30 US each way). This hotel is fantastic and they have a small beach you can lay out on - we even did some snorkeling there. There are also dolphins and sea turtles you can watch at this hotel. In Raitea, I am not aware of a beach, but a very inexpensive cab ride (around $6) brought us to a beautiful hotel called the Pearl (i think?) which allowed us to use their facilities - the snorkeling there was fantastic and perhaps the best we did on our trip. They also had a nice pool. Unfortunately, it looks like your itinerary does not hit Rarotonga - Muri beach was the best I have ever been to.
