Sailing in November 2017 for my 50th birthday! I am so stinkin' excited! We are sailing concierge for the first time but this will be my fourth disney cruise all on the Disney Wonder but first time in concierge and first time on the Disney Fantasy. Any reviews, suggestions or advice for me? I am super excited about the concierge but don't have a clue what to expect??

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by not knowing what to expect. Did you spend many thousands of dollars without looking at what the concierge perks are?

Basically..you have someone shoreside who will get you whatever bookings you want at the 120 day mark. They SHOULD contact you at about 125 days, but if not, you contact them. They will likely tell you that you can do your own reservations on line...my response to that is that they are being paid to be sure that you get what you want and to save you the trouble of on line booking--please make these arrangements for me. Beyond that, the on board concierge will hold back a limited number of tickets and reservations so that if there is anything you neglected to book in advance, you'll be able to get it on embarkation day. Do make everyone's life easier and book those things in advance. If you want additional Palo or Remy (in addition to those you are allowed to book in advance), you'll be able to get them after boarding.

You have a designated waiting area with seats. You'll board before boarding starts if you are there. If not, you'll board as soon as you are checked in. You'll meet with the concierge to be sure you have all you want/need. There will be snacks served in the lounge. There will be someone seated in the lounge to take your phone call or deal in person with anything you may want or need. You'll always be able to get a can of soda or a bottle of water in the lounge. During specified hours there will be a bartender who will make anything you or your children wish. I've heard that if you desire a particular product which is not normally stocked there, it will be obtained for you--no personal experience with this. No additional charge for any of this; you've paid plenty with the price of a concierge booking.

You'll have priority tendering at tender ports. The concierge will escort you and cut the line with you at all ports. You will basically not stand in line for anything the entire cruise. You'll have a prime table location in all dining rooms. You'll have golf cart transportation on Castaway if needed/wanted. You'll get a lithograph at the end.

What you SHOULD do--make your desires known in advance; don't send people scrambling at the last minute. Tip your stateroom host more than standard--he has a bigger room/suite to do, in some cases more bathrooms, kitchenette, etc. depending on which level you booked. Tip the concierge team based on what they do for you.

NOTE--this is not an all inclusive list, but hits the high points.

Thank you! We have sailed RCCL concierge but I know Disney does things a little differently. I was looking for some personal experiences that will give me some tips that other people may not know. I have done a lot of research but wanted some personal experiences too.

Does Remy or Palo come included in the price of concierge or as in our other cruises we pay the small fee? That is wonderful about the prime seating in the restaurants, that I had never heard.

I am super excited to be on the Fantasy as we have only sailed the Wonder, which we absolutely love.

You still pay the upcharge for Remy and Palo.

We have been on the Fantasy. OK, Fantasy concierge is better than concierge on the classic ships....but overall we prefer the classics. Actually, I'm starting to wish for a Wonder-ful cruise to see the new updates in person.

Concierge will do virtually anything possible for you and will treat your kids like princesses and princes. The best parts are the private lounge and sun deck (IMHO). It is NOT like some lines where the butler will unpack for you, etc. Unless there is a problem with your room, the services basically stop at your door. But you will lack for nothing. Some things do depend on the ship and category of suite, others are standard across the line.

Enjoy!

The ability to email your requests to shoreside concierge at that 125 day mark is great. Your requests are then handled by them at the 120 day period. The increased chances of reserving a cabana at Castaway is a perk, if that is your wish. We were not asked to make our own reservations but rather via phone call and email we were encouraged to use shoreside for reservations.

When you board you should be escorted up to deck 12 and shown into the lounge to begin the cruise. Have any questions ready and they'll handle it.

Getting into your cabin almost right away is nice as you don't have to lug your carry-on stuff around. I'm always struck with how much luggage is on deck the first day.

We enjoyed the private sundeck which is not used much. Very comfy furniture with the lounge only steps away for a cold drink. There will be a couple events up there too. Good photo ops.

A tiny point... they give you a card for the lights switch. No need to use your KTTW or bring an extra credit card sized card.

FYI the tip is not collected nor charged to your room automatically for concierge as it is for the other four staff positions. You will get an envelope for a tip but Disney offers no guidelines for concierge as they do the other positions. You're on your own.
