I have read the area can be a little bit unsafe. Looking at the Holiday Inn south.

 

A couple questions, is the beach area safe, like dania beach bar or jimbo's? walking to jaxsons, from hotel?

 

reasonable location to get to tropical acres, via uber or cab?

Unsafe? Where did you read that? The area is fine. Pay no attention to the morons that say that.

 

Jaxson's is about 1/2 mile away and I love going to Jimbo's just for the burgers. The Quarterdeck at the Dania Beach Pier is a great place to sit out on the deck over the surf, especially when the ships are going out to sea from Port Everglades.

Oh, yeah...Dairy Belle Ice Cream is right near the hotel. Give them a try.

Last year we went to The Quarterdeck at Dania Beach & loved it!! It was perfect to sit & watch the beach action, people surfing & the ships leaving port. The food & drinks were awesome! Our Uber driver suggested this when I explained what type of place we wanted.
