stacymills99 Posted February 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2017 Would like to take my 5 year old parasailing in either Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta. Does anyone have any recommendations or a place that will take you up off the boat instead of starting on the land? I know that they offer it in the states starting at five years old, but was hoping to find something on one of our stops.

cruisinitaliano Posted February 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Our experiences: For past 5 cruises we parasail in Cabo. Be forewarned: You negotiate the price on pier with vendor. We usually get $35 person paid in Peso equivalent. Then you will pay a dock service charge ( seperate from negotiated price) maybe $3. Then you skiff out to the parasail boat. There could be other folks onboard. You may have to wait 1/2 or longer for those onboard to finish their turn. WARNING: NO SHADE!!! Can be very hot and certainly rocky. Then you board and wait your turn to sail. Everyone will sail before you go back on return skiff. My point is... it can be alot of waiting, in hot , rocking boat. My suggestion: go to Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta. Go off beach. Your fun is immediate, you can gauge if its too windy and choose when to do it. In Cabo, wind conditions can change quickly. Lastly: I have not seen tandem parasailing in years. Is it your intention to let 5 yr old go alone??? Coming in for landing does require some guiding( turning ) skills. Hope this was helpful. BTW: prices always start around 50-75 person, remember to negotiate if you are comfortable doing so. Many Blessings

If so, what are your thoughts? Do you have any advice on good things to do in PV?
cruisinitaliano Posted February 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2017 Angela Wishing not to hijack this thread,,,here are a few thoughts. Los Veranos zip lining. You Tube to get sense of adventure. My daughters remain friends with guides. Superb fun day. Far less expensive than Carnival tour. Have not been to Las Animas. Our go too is Los Muertos. La Palapa sets us up with covered hut, great food and drink. Nice sand, easy waves and shore drop. Lots of beach activities. Parasail, jet ski and so forth. Then off to Rio Cuale for shaded shopping in a river setting. There is the Malecon for walking and shopping. Old town area, google all this stuff. I highly reccomend Los Veranos. CAUTION: PV time is 1 hr ahead of ship time. Please be aware when booking outside activities. I am a fan of Pesos. Paying in Pesos can save you up to 30% over paying in dollars. stacymills99 Posted February 18, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted February 18, 2017 Thank you for all the advice. We took my daughter zip lining last year (4 years old then) in Costa Rica. She loved it! I figured the parasailing would be an exciting new adventure with her. I definitely want to go up tandem from the boat if she goes. I will look around in Cabo. Thanks for all the great tips. cruisinitaliano Posted February 21, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2017 http://www.mazatlantours.org/ Maybe this is helpful. I have not tried this resort. We just go to any hotel where we feel comfortable. But.... 39$ and use if pool and loungers including parasail is a great deal. Possibly see what guys on beach would charge extra fir a longer ride.
