Duckenz Posted March 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Our family of 7 which includes DD her husband and 3 children are planning a cruise out of Port Canaveral in September 2018 on Oasis. As there was the 30% discount offered per person till end of the month we thought that this would be included. We had future cruise bookings that were were moving to the new dates that I booked on board ship last year which were transferred to our TA. We have since discovered that every other country offers the deal but RC Australia won't honour the discount as they say its a different marketing budget. Although they are offering it on Alaskan trips and also the Symphony the Sea and the older Caribbean cruises, just not ones released last week releases. Has anyone had to deal with this before and ended up with a good outcome. Also makes it worse when thy increase discount to 40% this week for other cruise. Any advise welcome Debbie

Duckenz Posted March 25, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Not so easy .Local TA holds the booking already and we managed to get the family room and room we wanted but the price took 5 days for them to sort out as they forgot about 5th person in room .We kept asking if discount was included but when we finally got the price discovered it wasn't RCL au just said thats how special run Debbie
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Bummer, sounds like you are somewhat stuck. If you cancelled and rebooked with a US TA, what are the cancellation fees, would it be worth the change?
Bizziecruzer Posted March 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Also remember if you book via US TA you will have to pay gratuities... whereas OZ TA they will be included.
The_Big_M Posted March 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2017 They are different sales in different regions. The local one is specifically local - this is what the terms say: "~Local WOW Sale applies to new bookings made between March 25 - 31 2017 (inclusive) on Royal Caribbean International Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, Transpacific and Asia Repositioning 05 nights or longer voyages departing between 19-Sep-17 and 22-Apr-18 inclusive (voyage must start or end in Australia). " As you point out the local sale is now 40%. However the US sale is 30%, on the cruises they cover. So basically some similarities, but they're still different.
