Zoedokey Posted March 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2017 If you have been to the Vancouver Symphony at the Orpheum Theatre, what did you think? We love the Symphony and are trying to decide if we want to plan one of our days around seeing the VSO in the evening.
Rare martincath Posted March 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2017 If you've enjoyed other symphonies, odds are good you should enjoy ours. The Orpheum is a great space, good sound, and the only performance you could attend on your pre-cruise is the VSO season-ending Titan, with an original new piece debuting to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary. I'd say that adds up to a pretty special night!
Zoedokey Posted March 28, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Thanks so much. Are Balcony seats ok? Or do we need to be in the orchestra for a good view. It's hard to gage how big the theatre is from the photos online. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare martincath Posted March 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Sightlines are fine from the balcony - I'd go for a central front seat up there over a seat near the back of the orchestra.
DougYWG Posted April 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2017 The Orpheum is a gorgeous old theatre that has been restored instead of being torn down. We prefer the balcony. You can look down on the stage and see more of what is happening. I think seating is about 2500.
Zoedokey Posted April 13, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted April 13, 2017 There are still plenty of seats left so I am thinking of maybe waiting until we are there in June to decide once I see the weather. I scored a balcony seat the same day in Chicago last year so hoping not to have to buy in advance. Any seat will be fine for us actually.
