teebomn Posted April 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2017 The one company I found said "No cruise passengers" * Runners Adventures* Any other options?
momincolorado Posted June 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2017 I emailed them. They are the same operator who gives the Monkey Jungle tour as listed on the Carnival site. They do tours for cruise ship passengers, but your have to book through the ship.
Cafedumonde Posted July 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2017 The one company I found said "No cruise passengers" * Runners Adventures*Any other options? They force you to book through Carnival. Much more expensive through Carnival, so frustrating
smileyone Posted August 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2017 It was expensive but very worth it. The kids are still talking about it months later. We arrived back to port with only 15 minutes until back on board time so I was glad it was a Carnival excursion or I would have been stressing out. fligster Posted September 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2017 How long was the drive? Is it a large bus or van? Sent from my iPad using Forums
smileyone Posted September 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 22, 2017 It was probably an hour total from La Romana with a stop along the way at the cocoa bean demonstration. This is a picture of the back of the bus it that helps. Sent from my iPad using Forums
smileyone Posted September 22, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 22, 2017 Sorry that should have read the drive portion was a total of an hour. The stop at the cocoa bean place might have been close to an hour as well. It sure felt like it was at least an hour but the monkeys were worth it. SoflaSharon Posted September 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Seeing the activity level listed as "moderate" for this excursion. Could someone advise why it gets this classification? Is it a long walk or difficult terrain? TIA
smileyone Posted September 24, 2017 #10 Share Posted September 24, 2017 I didn't notice any rough terrain. It would be difficult for someone using a wheelchair or walker at that cocoa bean demonstration because the paths are dirt and somewhat of a hill. If I remember correctly, the walk into the monkey enclosure is paved or concrete and there were a few steps. smileyone Posted September 24, 2017 #11 Share Posted September 24, 2017 I looked back at the pictures I have, it looks like some areas of monkeyland are concrete and some is gravel. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Sent from my iPad using Forums Thanks so much! Sounds like the ride out might be bumpy......I am seeing some info that it is not suitable for someone with a bad back.....we will probably have to give it a miss......
