Snorkeling

We will be on Norwegian, but just wondered if there were other shore excursions that we should know about for snorkeling besides the cruise lines', since this is supposed to be one of the best area's for snorkeling. If anyone has had a good experience with another company or supplier from the island, we'd love to hear about it. We've never been to Roatan and want to make sure the snorkeling is great. Also, not interested so much in added beach time or lunch added in, etc. Thank you.

There are many great outfits out of Half Moon Bay (West End) or West Bay Beach. Get with Rony Tours or Bodden Tours, they can help and provide you with the transportation. Another great option is go to Bananarama's website -- they have packages where they provide transportation, provide you a chair and/or drink, etc. Great company to use and they will take you the best spots. You also get to enjoy the beautiful beach there as well.

There are many fantastic independent operators for snorkeling and other excursions. Try Artley at Blue Cool Running Tours, he has 2 different snorkeling packages but will also customize a tour for you.

Upachaya Eco-lodge and Wellness Resort has a good tour and it is a little offbeat if you like something different.
