Stockholm: Getting from Frihamnen 638 to Ostermalm ( Saluhall) ASAP

Recommended Posts

Stockholm Food Tour@10AM with 9am Frihamnen Arrival" May 01, 2017, 12:52 PM

We have booked the "Stockholm Food Tour" via Viator. It begins at 10am in Ostermalm on 8/31/2017, a Thursday. Has a previous traveler arrived at Frihamnen 638, chosen this tour, and arrived in time? (one hour from "docked" until tour starts). Please also advise if you have made private booked tours in Stockholm and managed to be on time with a one hour window. We prefer to not take a taxi. We are on the Celebrity Silhouette.

How long after docking can you hope to be on a "SL" bus or "HOHO" at our port?

Bus/bus or bus/subway journey will take about 20 minutes but you will need to buy bus tickets before going onto the bus.

1 hour from ship arrival to Östermalms torg is very tight.

The tour information says seek out your guide at Õstermalms Saluhall, the oldest food market in Stockholm, where many businesses have been passed down through multiple family generations. Admire the intricate carvings on the interior wooden walls and eaves, which have been well-preserved for centuries.

What it does not say is that Östermalms Saluhall is closed to be restored. The trade has been moved into a temporary building in the square outside, so you will still be able to taste the foods. But it will not be the same experience.

Thank you so much. I think we will find a nice spot for lunch, and spend the time we have exploring Gamla Stam and Djursgarden I really appreciate the heads up.

Cheers,

Maureen
