Cassis or st topez from toulon

Hello,

 

I am trying to decide what to do on the day we are in Toulon. Could someone please give me advice on whether to go to Cassis or St Tropez (we would rent a car). We will be there the end of June. I have read about the traffic and roads to St Tropez, but curious if it is a concern this time a year? I realize July and August are probably peek times.

I would love to know about the towns themselves, anything will help. This port has been a challenge. Even thought of just staying on the ship because it is a very port intensive cruise.

Change my mind, please!
