Hi all. Has anyone been to see the tower, if so is the area around the tower ok for scooters. We are on a coach trip from our ship, so no problem getting the scooter to Pisa, just wondered if there would be problems when we get there. Such as high kerbs etc.

Cheers Phil

After coming from the tower, we waited for our tour mates at a souvenir shop before the site exit. It has tables in front where we ordered coffee. The elevated area going to the toilet has removable and wide wooden ramps. I would assume that it is for wheelchair and scooter who tours the Pisa. I did not see one however while we were there. Maybe you can confirm with your tour operator.

It's all paved walkways, no problem with a scooter.

To see for yourself make a google map of the area (use this as a starting address: Piazza Arcivescovado, 7, Pisa, Province of Pisa, Italy), then go to street view and you can see the area.
