The Taste Bar. Open usually three or four nights a week in the evening (obviously less on a 3 day sailing) they offer small samples of foods they have at their specialty dining. I think this is a neat concept, but poor execution. The food they sample is just not very good.

Along the staircase, they have some windows showcasing the people on the dancefloor. Remember, we can all see you out here lol.

Deck 6 is a passenger deck.

IMG114_zpsvrkt6sds.jpg

There is a clock in the staircase at each floor if you ever need to know the time. For some reason some of these clocks were wrong. Note the time, picture taken within seconds of each other.

Off to the side you have the Deli where you can get made to order sandwiches.

IMG126_zpsa5hc4c4p.jpg

I love that there is a coffee bar located right inside the Lido buffet area. So much more convenient than going down to Deck 5.

Sushi at Sea, just recently added. This has always been an empty, unused space on my recent Conquest class cruises.

Day 2: Nassau

Today we are in Nassau, Bahamas. This is my third time here and it joins Grand Turk as my most visited port. I made today a sea day and despite how unpopular Nassau is, I was truly surprised at how many people stayed on the ship.

I had the Blue Iguana for breakfast. I love their breakfast burrito's they are always very good. It was too early too drink (even on vacation) so I hit the coffee bar a number of times this morning to get a start on beating Cheers! The small coffee bar on Lido was very convenient for me and I went there instead of down to Promenade. Bonus, they did not open the lid on my vitamin waters any of the times I went there so I was able to squirrel them away for later. Not that it mattered, I still lost them - more on that later.

As I mentioned it was a lazy day at sea for me. There were no activities planned for those who stayed on board. I don't mean I did not enjoy what they offered, I mean there were actually no planned activities until after back on board time. The entertainment staff really dropped the ball on this one given how many people stayed on board. I wonder if because this is a starter itinerary, they usually don't have many people who stay on the ship and this caught them off guard, or if they just dropped the ball.

No big deal for me, I made the most of it and just relaxed with some TV and continued with the whole eating in my room trend. I also took my tour of the ship this morning. Here are some pics of Nassau that I took while doing my tour.

I couldn't figure out where Atlantis was. I mean I have been here before and I know it is visible from the port. How am I missing it. Of course, it was being blocked by Divina.

The birds were having a feast today.

IMG186_zpsbwv6tbcg.jpg

They had no fear of people. They were all over Lido snacking on anything left behind.

Other ships in port today.

I hear complaints from time to time about Carnival going to Nassau. Let me point out that NCL and RCCL both send their flagship to Nassau as does MSC with their North American flagship. Does the Vista call on Nassau? No way. Let's cut Carnival some slack on this one. There is a market for Nassau and Carnival caters to that market, but they do not send their biggest and best ships there on a regular basis, if at all.

Lunch today was Guy's Burgers. There was a time when I longed for a Guy's burger as much as the cruise itself. Lately I just can't handle the greasiness. I don't think the burger has changed, just my tolerance level for heart attack on a bun. I wanted one for no other reason than I would not be sailing on a ship again this year with a Guy's so who knows when I will get a chance for one again. Big mistake, my stomach hurt the rest of the afternoon. I just really wish I could eat these, they used to be so delicious.

I made one trip this afternoon to the Red Frog Rum Bar for a Ting. I love these. Sadly the service here is terrible. I think it is a fleet wide issue of staffing. If you want to hang out at a bar for some drinks, I am sure this is a great bar. I am a grab my drink and go person. I tried a couple of times to get a drink from here and failed each time except for my ting - I sucked it up and waited because I figured it was the only bar on board to stock it. Same issue on the Sunshine. The bar all the way Aft on Lido was much quicker (less crowded with just as many bartenders) and it became my go to when Alchemy was not open. According to my sign-n-sail I may or may not have started drinking at 1:59.

I had a couple drinks from the Aft bar until Alchemy opened at 4 and then I made my way down there for a forty is the new twenty.

Hands down my favorite drink of the cruise!

Tonight was elegant night. If you have read my reviews before, you know my opinion of elegant night. I think it is silly to be told to dress up to eat dinner on vacation. But I also believe those are the rules and if I am going to eat there knowing this, I will follow the rules or not dine there. This time I choose to not dine there. Moot point since I could not get YTD but I had already made the decision to skip the MDR tonight. The menu is sad and not worth the extra effort at all so I think from now on, on 5 day cruises, I will skip Elegant night. I could not care less about the lobster, but I love that spaghetti carbonara.

I can't say what it looked like in the MDR(it was either a ghost town, or full of rule breakers) but I saw literally almost no one dressed up. I think more and more people see elegant night as a nuisance especially on a 3 night cruise. I have never sailed a three night before so I do not know if this is normal, but there was no mention in the Fun Times of the Capitan's Toast where you meet the officers. I happen to be in the Atrium and they did walk through and wave at people. But that was it, no introduction, no real interaction. Just a walk through and a wave. I think we are close to seeing the end of elegant night on 3 day cruises. Or maybe they have never done the official meet and greet, I hope it is the former.

There were two different shows tonight. The first was gender showdown and it was hosted by a male and a female member of the Fun Squad. It was super funny and I enjoyed it. The next was the Love and Marriage show. Someone had a little too much to drink and was heckling Donkey through most of the start of the show. It was very awkward trying to enjoy the show never knowing when this guy was going to have another outburst. At one point Donkey told him to shut up nobody thought he was funny. This actually quieted him down. He was at it again soon but then got bored and left. After this it was a great show. The questions are always the same, but the answers are always unique and hilarious.

I did a little more casino time tonight. I told myself I will sit down and play until I hit a bonus round. Then I will walk away. I hit a bonus on my third spin. It took all the willpower in me, but I stayed true and walked away within one minute of sitting down. No playing today, but I was up some more money.

I had a great day again the Liberty. Hard to believe tomorrow would already be my last day of the cruise. At least I have another cruise to look forward to....

Tonight's towel animal.

Bar Bill with Cheers!: $61.45

Bar Bill W/O Cheers!: $76.59

Not coming out as far ahead as I would like but still getting my money's worth from Cheers!
