Shabbot services

last year on the TA on CCL We had 3 shabbot services very well attended . Does HAL have Jewish services. Might even be Hanukah then

What i have seen: On longer itineraries and those that include the days of Hanukah or Yom Kippur there is usually a Rabbi on board who will do all the Jewish services. For other cruises HAL provides a room and the items necessary for Shabbot services to be led by a volunteer passenger. I"d check with the Front Desk as soon as on board to let them know you wishes. YMMV. m--

We were on the Koningsdam for Passover last year. A volunteer Cantor led the Seder. HAL provided a room, appropriate foods (even a Seder plate) and were very respectful. However, there were many Israelies aboard as well as a mix of Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox. The Cantor and most of the passengers went along with a looser, more inclusive format and slight variations on chants/prayers. A few, however, insisted on their versions which led to a little friction. My advice is recognize that the setting is different and appreciate the perspectives of your different Jewish shipmates.
