weatherman46 Posted September 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2017 We will be on the MSC Musica docking in Fortalezafor the day on Saturday 25 November 2017. Having read several reviews and articles about this town we are a bit worried about how safe it will be. A couple of ideas we are considering are to go to the Mercado and visit the attractions in that area, or go to Praia do Futuro for a few hours. Does anyone have any information or advice, and also recommendations of things to do and see?
valparaiso Posted September 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2017 Hello weatherman,,,,,all big cities in Brasil as Fortaleza could be unsafe but applying common sense you can go to Mercado and Future Beach,,, ,I recommended : All visit to any place must be during the day,,,,,when the day is going dark is dangerous ( sunset) Use Uber application or taxi for transport Do not use jewelry or big cameras,,,,use only your iPhone mobile for pictures Go to places with many people, do not walk in lonely places. In the Futuro beach stay near a " Barraca ",,,,,Barraca is a bar or restaurant in the beach that sells food and drinks,,,,near the owner or guy of the " barraca " you will be safe. Keep your money in the security box in your hotel or on the ship if you visit only for one day, have only money for a beer or lunch or transport The Brazilian people is very friendly and very hospitality and you will enjoy the beach and food. Have a nice cruise to Brazil,,,i was there for holidays last October, 2017 ,,best regards
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2017 We have been there a couple of times and think you have been given excellent advice. The beach near the port is quite nice. We've done ships tours on each visit. I too would only visit areas where there are lots of people. I would leave valuables on the ship and take a travel wallet with you.
