Kathie13 Posted October 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2017 Has anyone done the Greek Islands, Venice and Croatia with a scooter or wheel chair? Is it possible? It's one of the last cruises I want to do on my bucket list. I am able to walk short distances and a few steps. Thanks. Dubrovnik has worked hard to become more accessible in recent years, much in conjunction with the Multiple Sclerosis Association in Dubrovnik. Been there 3 times but was not using a scooter all those times. The old town walled area is the main attraction . Though you will encounter stairs and cobblestones which will limited some access in the old town it's still worth going there. Access to the top of the wall for viewing has become more accessible to wheelchairs. Following are some links you need to check out. http://www.sagetraveling.com/dubrovnik-accessible-guided-tours http://www.curbfreewithcorylee.com/2015/08/26/dubrovnik-wheelchair-access/ http://www.absolute-croatia.com/travel-information/dubrovnik-travel-information/general-information/item/guests-with-disabilities-in-dubrovnik Venice is also doable. There has been a lot of information regarding Venice's overall accessibility in the past so suggest you do a search of the Disabled Cruise Forum. Following are some links to check out particularly the first one that contains the English version of an accessible map of Venice. http://archive.comune.venezia.it/flex/cm/pages/ServeBLOB.php/L/EN/IDPagina/1318%20 http://www.sagetraveling.com/Venice-Disabled-Access http://www.sagetraveling.com/Venice-Accessibility The Greek Islands can be more challenging so it would be best to advise the ports of interest. ozscotart Posted October 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2017 There is an app called Venezia Facile which can be useful for plotting routes. Unfortunately it no longer works for me, it hasn’t been updated as yet for iOS 11. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
