I would say major items that you will see items made from straw at the straw market (hats, baskets, etc) conch shell jewelry (items from sea shells) and wood carvings.

ok..got it...back to Nassau lol.

 

I would not buy silver there, nor jewelry, unless you see something you really want and are not worried about quality, and the cost does not set you back too much.

 

As far as the silver in Mexico goes, a lot what they sell to us is not of the highest quality (according to a jeweler here), and they dont pay much for it here at those "sell your old jewelry" sites.
