aviator1945 Posted November 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2017 I'm booked on next week's Brilliance TA sailing from Barcelona, so I follow the ship's activities on marinetraffic.com. At present she's enroute from La Spezia (Florence) to Piraeus (Athens). A few hours after having passed the Straits of Messina, the ship made a 180 degree turnaround while increasing speed from previously 14-15 knots to 20-21 knots, heading back to the port of Messina. She spent less than an hour there, before continuing her voyage to Piraeus. Would anyone on board know the reason for this middle-of-night port call? Ourusualbeach Posted November 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2017 I would guess a medical emergency of some sort.
