MSC Divina - adjacent/ connecting rooms

Has anyone booked rooms that are not adjacent or connecting, and then been able to switch rooms later? I assume that at some point closer to final payment, people will start canceling, and there will be the potential to switch to rooms that are next to each other, or even connecting. I'm just unsure of the likelihood of this happening - has anyone else tried this and had success?
