fredflint Posted November 18, 2017 #26 Share Posted November 18, 2017 You also might be able to do Wi-Fi calling. If you are just keeping in touch email or texting makes more sense due to time zone differences. On the Epic TA most of the speeds were little better than dialup less than 1Mb .We did somehow manage to FaceTime for about 5 minutes with video and no issues. Other times a VOIP call which uses 64 k were fair never good. If you go by the minute track your actual usage time it can take a while to log on and off. Also rounding is up to the next minute so any call will pretty much be 2 minutes longer than what you used. On our 13 day TA we used a little over 7 GB of data. bradleyk Posted November 18, 2017 #27 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I have a question about the NCL internet package. On their website the only description I see is: " The time plan gives you 100 minutes of internet connectivity. Save $3.95 USDActivation Fee when you book online." Can anyone please verify if that's just solely internet connection? Or do you also get cell service for phone calls and text with that? There is hardly any information regarding this on the NCL website. Thanks in advance. Zdub86, I sailed the Epic in march and to stay connected to home I used the NCL iconceirge app. Down load it before you go on your cruise, when you are on board your can turn your phone to airplane mode and log in. It will charge you a $8.99 access fee, then you can call home fro .79 cents a minute. It worked great for me since I didn't need or want actual internet access. Here is the NCL link to explain more about it. https://www.ncl.com/it/en/apps
