jbklyn88 Posted November 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Hi everyone! First time I'm posting in a while, need advice or suggestions. My wife and I booked January 13 to January 18th, 2018 on Independence in a Deluxe Oceanview hump stateroom on Deck 6. Is it worth the upgrade to a Superior Oceanview? Biker19 Posted November 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Depends on the price and location.
kwazi07 Posted November 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I’d keep your current stateroom. I love the convenience of the hump staterooms, and since it’s just you and your wife the size difference won’t make a big deal. And according to the RCI website, the balconies on the deluxe are slightly larger than the superior. Are you center hump or at one of the ends? Biker19 Posted November 30, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I read that too about the difference in sizes. It is typically one cushion width of the sofa extra in the cabin itself.
kwazi07 Posted November 30, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Yup, we are dead center in the center hump on the port side. I read that too about the difference in sizes. I’d keep it; you’d be able to see all the way forward and all the way aft. We had three in a deluxe aft hump (the last on the hump, could only see back) on Navigator and it was great. Booked the same relative cabin for Freedom next spring. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
internetwhiz Posted November 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I love hump balcony rooms. I wouldn’t change rooms unless it was to a hump on a higher floor. The difference in room size is about 15 sq ft. That would mean the stateroom is about 15-16 inches wider. That’s it. I’d rather have the hump and location such a slight difference. Often your balcony is a little bigger, and I love being able to easily see from the front to the back or the ship.
racerxspeedy Posted November 30, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 30, 2017 We just sailed IOS center hump on deck 7 (7338). We enjoyed the location, room and balcony size was perfect for us. I wouldn't upgrade unless it was a balcony with loungers (1400/1402/1600...etc).
Derek78216 Posted December 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 17, 2017 I’ve seen these rooms mentioned often and they seem to be desirable but can you tell me what you’re referring to when you say “hump balcony”? Is it the side of the ship that juts out farther than the others? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
