Beach time after Ruins?

We would like to book a tour with David & Ivan. Our ship arrives in Costa Maya at 10 am and leaves at 6pm. If we go on a tour, would we still have time to play at the beach in Mahahaul? If our ship arrives at 10am what is a resonable time to expect the tour to depart? Does it last 3 full hours? I'm thinking if we start at 11am and we are back by 2:30 we still have a couple hours to play and shop. Am I correct in assuming this?

We did the Chaccchoben ruins last week through Princess. We had plenty of time for the 3 1/2 ruins tour and then time for lunch and the beach in Mahajual.

We had the same experience as labloverinca: Did the excursion and then had time to hang out at the beach, eat a little of the local food and drink a little beer! So very relaxing!
