Royal IQ or Royal app on Allure

Hello,

 

Which app should be used while on board Allure and which one allows 2 users to text each other? Is there a fee for it?

 

Also would one of these apps, have our schedule loaded (ie. Booked shows, excursions etc)?

Defiinitely not Royal IQ. Also not sure that texting is available for the Royal App yet.

The RCI app is the only one available for Allure and there's about zero chance the texting feature will be available in two weeks for your sailing. It does have a pretty good version of the Compass on board but is not directly tied to it so that if there are changes they won't show up on the app right away. It does not have your schedule, yet. Free app.

My setsail pass for Allure is saying to download the Royal IQ app in order to track my luggage. So do you think this is now functional on Allure or an RCI IT screw up?

Thank you both. I thought it might be nice to know when my luggage arrives at the cabin. I don't really have a need for anything else either of RCI's apps supposedly do. Don't think I'll bother to download them to my phone.

If I remember correctly, the luggage tracking part did not function reliably.

^ not sure it's going to work any better than it did under Royal IQ. On that list, only item 3 sort of works for now.

I have a feeling that money making features will come first, like items 1 (order drinks) and 5 (dinner and shore excursion booking), and nice to have features like luggage tracking and chat, will come later, if ever.
